THE ARTIST
Diane Magee is from Youghal, Co.Cork, Ireland, where she lives and works. Diane (Murphy) attended Limerick College of Art & Design from 1987 and graduated in 1992. In 1999 she completed a Masters degree in Education. From 1993 to 1999 she was a full-time art teacher in Ard Scoil Mhuire, Corbally, Limerick.
Throughout the years she has mainly worked in watercolours. In 2005 she began working in oils, her first series of 12 landscapes was based on Ferry Point, a direct view from her studio. This 2007 exhibition was a complete sell out and the beginning of a full-time career as an artist.
Diane recently completed a series of commission based work and is currently working on a body of work for an exhibition at the end of this year.
